Collin, it would be hard to convince web designers to give up flexibility in their color choices. A better solution is what I found at YOUR site: the tool that filters web pages and spits out a color-blind-safe version; now that is the right solution. Food for thought, (well, what I could read of it). I am afflicted with color blindness (deuteranopia in my case). I mostly use Chrome browser (not sure if that changes anything), and a great deal of your site is a little difficult for me to read. I don’t wish to whinge, and I know it is my problem really, nonetheless it would be great if you would take into account color blind visitors whilst undertaking your next web page design.

Great article. There’s a lot of good information here, though I did want to let you know something – I am running Ubuntu with the latest beta of Firefox, and the layout of your blog is kind of funky for me. I can read the articles, but the navigation doesn’t function so good.
